It was a bright Friday afternoon. Everyone in Grade 6 was full of excitement because the English Imitation Contest was coming. It is a great opportunity to express ourselves and learn from others. This is also a wonderful chance to enjoy the fun of speaking English. The contest is very unforgettable and everyone has learned a lot.

The contest began in a round of loud applause. Everyone just couldn't wait to see the excellent performances. The five judges: Emily, Alice, Susan, Andrea and Olive were smiling and looking at the contestants inspiringly.

The 35 contestants gave us many surprises. Though they looked a bit nervous, they performed wonderfully. Some made beautiful PPT with pictures on it. Some played nice music. Some did funny actions. Others invited their friends to perform together. Every contestant used their imagination and well prepared for the contest. Everybody enjoyed the show very much and clapped after a performance to show politeness and respect. Though some of the contestants didn't win any prizes, they had a meaningful experience. In fact, everyone did, too.

Of course, the contest was a great success. So here we must give a big hand to the contestants, the judges, the audience and all the teachers who were working so hard. And we wish to have more interesting activities like this one in the future.

This is what we have learned from the contest: to learn English well, we should speak English with great confidence. Just like Patrick once told us in the English square, "don't be shy, just try!"
