“It was in vain to sit still and wait for what was not to be had.” (Quoted from Robinson Crusoe) And they didn’t.
On 28th. Sept, the bookworms in Grade 7 presented us with a well-prepared episode of English Square at the multi-function hall of Northern WFLMS. The books they introduced included Robinson Crusoe, Pride and Prejudice, Sherlock Holmes, Oliver Twist, Time Machine, The adventures of Tom Sawyer, etc.
Amy from Class Five introduced The Little Princess. Instead of using the ‘we’re spoiled’ way, she thought we could all be polite and lovely by using ‘if you please’ and ‘thank you’, which encouraged us more than the old way. Sally from Class Six used the blackboard like she owned it. Her pictures, simple but vivid, helped us to know the Old man and the Sea better. We can see the bookworms dug in books last summer.
Though we were just seated in the classroom, we still deeply felt the charm of classic books. In the process, we shared books, promoted our English skills and developed a keen interest in reading.
The bookworms really did a great job on 28th of September.
