A visit to the Science and Technology Museum

Last Friday, our ninth graders visited the Science and Technology Museum with strong curiosity. In this AOI activity, we did not only interact with a lot of interesting “scientific equipments”, but also review the knowledge of Physics and Biology that we had learned before such as conservation of energy, pressure and alimentary canal.

First of all, we went to the exhibition hall of “Light of Wisdom”. We were attracted by the advanced scientific equipment, which also recalled our knowledge of physics. For example, through observing the motion of the ball in the exhibition of “The Energy Shuttle”, we reviewed the principal of conservation of energy---“Energy can be passed from one object to another object, and the forms of energy can converted from one to another, but energy will never disappear.” Of course, the scientific equipment, which made me most shocked, was “The Glowing Balls” because when I touched the glass ball gently, and the brilliant glow follows the movement of my hands, it’s so interesting.

After we finished the first part of our task, we went to the other exhibition hall, “people and health”, where we took a ‘train” to explore the secret of alimentary canal. Although the time of waiting was long and it was quite noisy there, our waiting were worthy when we finally got on the “train”. When the journey of alimentary canal started, I was attacted by the delicate property and the vivid video and image, which helps me review the knowledge of alimentary canal completely.

The AOI trip to the Shanghai Science and Technology Museum provided us a chance to learn lots of new knowledge as well as review the knowledge that we had learned before. Besides, this AOI activity let us feel the strong power of science.
