Mahota farm

On October 29th, we went to the Mahota farm for the second AOI activity.

First, we settled down and watched a video about how the people in that farm keep bugs away from their crops without using any insecticides. The guide then led us to a green house, and she taught us how to graft plants. At the beginning, everyone thought that transporting plants to soil was easy, but we found it extremely hard. Removing the seedling from the plastic box was a difficult thing. We always pull out the leaf on the seedling. One time, we even pulled out the base! After you pull out the seedling, you have to dig in to the soil and make a hole. Then bury the base of the seedling. In order to let it grow, the distance between seedlings and seedlings is the length of a shovel. Everyone repeated these steps again and again. Lastly, we fed the domestic fowls. There were two kinds of animals: pigs and sheep.

In the afternoon, we arrived at a park and participated in the competition of dodge ball and soccer. The competition is tremendously exciting, the teachers joined us too!

It was a tired and meaningful trip; we learned about how do plants grow, how to plant plants and a lot of scientific knowledge; we also enjoy the happiness to do sports.
