记美国姐妹校明泉中学师生来访世外

2013年6月22日至6月24日，世外中学接待了来自美国明泉中学师生，进行了以了解中国为主的三天短暂的交流活动。

在6月22日星期六上午10点半，来自Pre-DP9的接待家庭与美国学生见面，开始了为期两天的住家活动。每一个接待家庭都安排了各种各样的接待活动。例如，带着美国学生游览观光上海的著名景点，欣赏风格迥异的建筑，品尝原汁原味的家常菜等。还有一些学生与美国伙伴们一起运动、打球，欣赏中国的杂技表演，参与夏至音乐节，体会属于中国独特的音乐旋律。每一个美国学生都拥有属于自己的、与众不同的经历，令他们流连忘返。

6月24日星期一上午8点，所有接待的Pre-DP9的同学和明泉中学的师生一起参与了几个具有中国特色的课程，包括有趣的中文课、书法课以及学打中国结。美国伙伴们都投入其中，其乐融融。在中文课上，他们尽其所能发音标准；在书法课上，他们认真仔细地写下每一笔每一划；在学打中国结时，他们跟着步骤一步步地做，当小巧玲珑的中国结在他们手中完成时，他们显得很激动兴奋。

午餐过后，所有参与这次接待活动的老师同学以及来自美国的师生们在阶梯教室进行了这次交流的最后一个环节：提问、总结和告别。接待的师生们将伙伴送上大巴，挥手告别。

尽管只有短暂的三天时间，但双方师生增进了中美学校的关系，感受到了对方的真诚和热情。同时，在六月底，本校师生也将出访明泉中学，对美国交流之旅也倍感期待！

Cultural Exchange, Further Relationship

Welcoming the visiting teachers and students

from Crystal Spring Uplands School(CSUS) from America

From June 22^nd to 24^th, we kindly welcomed the teachers and students from our sister school, Crystal Spring Uplands School, in America to visit WFLMS and immerse in a Chinese culture in the following three days.

Host families from Pre-DP9 met with their buddies on the morning of June 22nd. They prepared various activities for our friends from the U.S. Some people went sightseeing to some well-known scenic spots in Shanghai, visiting fascinating architectures and experienced delicious homemade dishes at home. Some of them played sports together and had a wonderful time. Some went to enjoy the Chinese traditional acrobatics and attended the Summer Music festival by appreciating proper melody of China. Our guests had had different interesting trips and plentiful experiences in three days and they liked their staying here in Shanghai.

On the last day, host families and their buddies attended several special lessons. For example, Chinese lessons, calligraphy lessons, Chinese knot workshops, just to name a few. In the Chinese lesson, American students tried their best to pronounce Chinese words and speak simple sentences like “I am xxx”,”Nice to meet you” in Chinese. In the calligraphy lesson, they learned the spirit and culture of Chinese calligraphy and even tried to write some calligraphy words! Although they hadn’t mastered calligraphy by the end of that lesson, they still gained a lot of knowledge and skills. In the Chinese knot workshop that followed, they managed to tie a kind of exquisite Chinese knots. In fact, some of their Chinese knots were of high quality that even surpassed some of the Chinese students. We would remember this program and our American friends forever.

It was sad that the three days passed by like only three minutes. On the afternoon of June 24th, we bid farewell with our buddies. We had some more discussions and summaries before our buddies left. We certainly missed each other and promised to keep in touch.

Although only a short visit for three days, the two schools improved the relationship of Sino-US schools when feeling the sincerity and passion. Meanwhile, the teachers and students in our school will pay a return visit to CSUS, and we look forward to the trip to America at the end of June!
